Medlar Field at Lubrano Park

The Crosshair Guide recently enjoyed a trip to Medlar Field in University Park Pennsylvania. It a nice ballpark that has some really interesting features. The outfield aims directly at Nittany Mountain and really showcases the area’s natural beauty. From the outfield seats, you have a view of a very looming Beaver Stadium. Medlar Field was a great value as we payed $9 for our tickets. The BBQ joint by the first base bullpen could have been better, however a burger that was also sampled was excellent. We hoped that there would be a local chain as part of their concession line up, but there wasn’t. The beer selection was not vast, but it had quality. The local brew house Otto’s was featured on the first base side of the ballpark. Leinenkugel and Heineken were also offered and at reasonable prices. From what we could tell Medlar Field seem to have two sides. A kid friendly 3rd base side full of fan interactions and a picnic pavilion. A more adult oriented 1st base side include beer during Spike’s games and hightop tables. We left after an enjoyable game however we still were rather confused by the Nookie Monster mascot in Center Field.
